Kara Haspel Lind, founder of Kara’s Cupcakes, expands on her passion for creating celebratory moments with her new concept, Bar Lucia.  Situated adjacent to Kara’s Cupcakes, Bar Lucia will feature rosé and sparkling wines to be paired with a menu of seasonal salads, panini sandwiches and small bites. Kara’s desire to connect people through food, wine, and her much-loved sweets was the inspiration to create this destination culinary experience inside Napa’s Oxbow Public Market.

Named for her great grandmother, Angela Luci and her daughter, Lucia, Bar Lucia honors the memorable traditions passed down through five generations of incredible women in Kara’s family who gave her the courage to pursue a creative passion and bring it to fruition. Angela Luci, ready to start anew, left her Italian family behind to arrive in Ellis Island in 1920 during the second wave of the 1918 Pandemic.

“I can’t help but think of the irony of how 100 years later,  I am navigating my way through these unchartered waters,  opening a new business during a global pandemic. While launching what I consider to be a very special and personal endeavor for me offers a ton of challenges, I am optimistic that our community will appreciate a moment here with us either at the bar or ordering food and wine to go,” stated Haspel Lind.  “After all,” she continues, “sipping rosé offers a moment of sunshine and sweetness that I know we all need at this time.”

Bar Lucia is owned and operated by the same owners of Kara's Cupcakes. Next time you're visiting Bar Lucia, be sure to enjoy your favorite "San Francsico sweet."
